COMPARE
In the 1990s the invention of the metal surgical staple revolutionized wound closure. Surgeons readily adopted the use of staplers because of the time savings (4 minutes for staplers versus 9 minutes for manual sutures for the average procedure). Recent studies have shown, however, that surgical staples have a higher overall health care system cost due to the cost of returning to remove the staples. Now compare to the SubQ It! fastener, only 0.0064 grams, as fast to install as a metal staple, and it’s biodegradable – no need to come back to have them removed.
First Showing: SubQ It! shown at the annual meeting of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) in Baltimore, April 17-20, 2013.
Thanks to all who visited our booth 636 for a demo and to those who have asked to be contacted when we have FDA clearance or distribution in your country.
