Unlike conventional metal staplers that pierce the skin surface and require a follow-up removal procedure, SubQ It! places bioabsorbable fasteners subcutaneously beneath the skin. This eliminates train-track scarring, patient discomfort from removal, and the costs associated with a staple removal appointment.

SubQ It! holds FDA 510(k) clearance (K131563) for closing incisions in abdominal, thoracic, gynecologic, orthopedic, plastic and reconstructive surgery. It is also used for trocar incisions in laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures, Cesarean sections, inguinal hernia repairs, and laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

Two models are available: the SU-10, which carries 10 bioabsorbable fasteners and is designed for incisions up to 10 cm; and the SU-25, which carries 25 fasteners and handles incisions up to 25 cm. Both deploy at 7 seconds per fastener and ship pre-sterilized in sealed foil laminate pouches.

SubQ It! fasteners are made from a bioabsorbable polymer weighing only 0.0064 grams each. They comply with bioabsorbable medical device safety standards and are manufactured in an ISO 13485 certified facility.
